Thank you for using WaterBuddy. We take your privacy and personal information protection very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Pet Information: The name you give your virtual pet, the pet type and skins you choose
• Personal Settings: Your preferences such as daily water goal, reminder times, and reminder intervals
• Water Records: Water intake data you manually record (time, amount, cup type, etc.)

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Health Data: With your authorization, we read from and write to Apple Health (HealthKit) water data to better sync your water intake records
• Device Information: Technical information such as device model, OS version, and app version for troubleshooting and experience optimization

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your real name, ID number, phone number, email, or other personally identifiable information
• We do not collect your location information
• We do not collect your contacts or photo album contents (except when you actively save share images to your photo album)

2. How We Use Information

• Core Features: Recording your water data, calculating daily progress, and generating statistics
• Reminder Notifications: Sending water drinking reminders based on your set reminder times
• Pet Raising System: Updating pet status and growth progress based on your water intake
• Data Sync: Syncing water data with Apple Health app with your authorization
• Product Improvement: Optimizing app features and user experience through anonymous usage data

3. Data Storage and Security

• All your data is stored locally on your device (via iOS native UserDefaults and file system)
• We do not upload your personal data to any server
• We use iOS system-level data protection mechanisms to ensure data security
• You can delete all data at any time through the "Reset All Data" feature in the app

4. HealthKit / Health App Data Usage

• We only access Apple Health data after your explicit authorization
• We only read and write "Dietary Water" data
• Health data is only used for display and syncing within the app, and will never be used for other purposes
• You can revoke authorization at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health

5. Notification Permission

• We request notification permission to send water drinking reminders
• You can turn off notification permissions in System Settings at any time
• Turning off notifications will not affect other app functionality

6. In-App Purchases

• In-app purchases are processed by Apple App Store
• We do not collect your payment information — all transactions are completed through Apple's secure payment system
• Purchase history is saved in your Apple ID account

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is intended for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Your Rights

• Access: You can view all your water records and settings within the app
• Deletion: You can delete all data at any time through Settings → Data Management → Reset All Data
• Export: You can export your water data as a CSV file
• Withdraw Consent: You can revoke health data, notification, and other authorizations in System Settings at any time

9. Updates to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated policies will be published within the app and on this page. Material changes will be notified through in-app notifications.
